'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League return

Kane celebrates his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has revealed that his interest in going back to the Premier League has diminished and he is open to discuss a new deal with Bayern Munich.

The accomplished striker is currently two years through the four-year contract he signed when transferring to from Tottenham Hotspur for a substantial fee in the summer of 2023.

The experienced forward has netted an outstanding 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German team, helping them claim the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which marked the initial important achievement of his notable career.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has earlier mentioned that he would be pleased to see Kane go back to England, where he lacks 48 goals to surpass Alan Shearer's record Premier League scoring feat of 260.

However, the England captain has now clarified that he is no longer as eager about coming back home as he earlier was, and would definitely contemplate extending his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that," he remarked.

"I mentioned openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be prepared to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it relies on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a superb moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have realized in my career is that different opportunities and different periods happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am totally all in with Bayern."

Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the historic top scorer for both Tottenham and England and lately became the speediest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five leagues, attaining the achievement in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a trophy had eluded him until he lifted the German title last season.

Kane states that he was not sure how he would respond after breaking his trophy wait, but now feels it has made him hungry for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.

"But it's given me more drive to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to accomplish in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I driven myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Future Prospects

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's top focus
  • The option of a Premier League return has noticeably decreased
  • New contract talks could start in the near future
  • Kane's exceptional goal-scoring performance continues to astound
